ISATEC achieves success in interdisciplinary cooperation

Automotive and medical technology, plastics, production technology, IT and bioengineering – all disciplines that would appear quite unrelated to each other at first glance. But the opposite is true, as was demonstrated at the Vis-à-vis Conference, where participants learned about the diversity of synergy effects that can be achieved through interdisciplinary cooperation.

Under the “Vis-a-vis“ banner, the AGIT (Aachener Gesellschaft für Innovation und Technologietransfer) supports such conferences on a regular basis and is also the organizer of the 1st Vis-à-vis Conference at the Technology Centre.

One of the projects presented at the conference of regional industry initiatives is a development project realized by ISATEC under a contract with the ABIOMED medical technology company. It provides an impressive demonstration of the intensely close interaction between the knowledge and specifications of the client and the engineers at ISATEC, with their development tools. The outcome of this specific cooperative project: an ergonomically sound, high-performance product that is ready for production.

This example and the conference itself offer both interested experts and students at the university in Aachen a look at the tremendous diversity and the high degree of specialization among the numerous development firms in the region. The job exchange is an essential part of the event, as it enables firms to establish direct contact with prospective graduates.
