Pump flows induced by rotating components can be calculated and optimised using CFD analyses. The required pumping power determined in CFD simulations corresponds excellently to real measured values. This facilitates determining the effects of changes in pump geometry on flow rate and required drive shaft power as well as subsequent feed pump optimisation.
