• Creation of a 3D-CAD three-dimensional model
• Selection of a suitable method and material, giving due consideration to component strength, moulded component
quality, costs and realization time.
• Use of our own CNC milling machine for the production of design models, prototypes and functional models.
One example of the fruits of our extensive experience is the development of a main switch for tubular engines for electrically controlled jalousies. The electric motor, a transmission, a brake and the main switch tube must be incorporated within the relatively narrow space within the tube (d = approx. 30 mm). The main switch defines the up/down position once when the engine is started, enabling it to stop at the appropriate point. The problem involved: If the representation of the travel path of a jalousie (with a height of 2 m, for example) is reduced to only a few millimetres, this may result in imprecise switching.
In the main switch developed by ISATEC we achieved a digital image of the travel path by mechanical means. Because metres and centimetres are registered separately, a precisely positioned stop is possible. The entire development process was performed in the Pro Engineer 3D-CAD system. All prototypes were produced using stereolithography via the STL interface.
